View the videos from the Northeast Lau Response Cruise 2009. The cruise team spent six days characterizing volcanic deposits and associated phenomena, providing fundamental new insights on eruptive phenomena, including the first observations of molten lava actively erupting in the deep ocean at West Mata volcano. Sea floor images were obtained by cameras mounted on the Jason remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The scientific party and Jason team were onboard the University of Washington research vessel Thomas G.
