This video highlights Team Twilight Zone (TZ) member Julie Olson as she processes samples collected from the various depths. Julie illustrates and explains the many steps required to process microbial samples (bacteria or fungi). She is setting up cultures of microbial communities on different media (the petri dishes containing different food) that give her information on what kind of nutrients the microbes prefer.
