Brothers submarine volcano is host to the most active and possibly largest of any hydrothermal vent fields discovered to date along the Kermadec Arc. The 3-dimensional image depicts Brothers, looking toward the northeast. Depths in this image range from 1205 to 2835 meters (~3950 to 9300 feet). The bathymetry is 2.5 times vertically exaggerated. The high-resolution EM300 bathymetry data (25 meter grid cell size) used to create the image are proprietary, courtesy of New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA).
