On our first dive of the cruise at the Atwater Valley Site 340, we came across this large carbonate outcrop with a number of tubeworms, Escarpia, around the edges. On almost all the tubes, Alvinocaris muricola shrimp were swimming around and hanging onto the tips. Associated with them were tiny amphipods, swimming in the seawater above the tubes.
