Figure 1 - Great Barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) swims through coral reef habitat on the west coast of Mona Island, Puerto Rico. Barracudas, as piscivorous (fish eaters) and general carnivores, are one of the top predators of the reef ecosystem using bursts of speed and sharp teeth to catch their prey.
