Patton Seamount rises from a depth of more than 2 miles to within 800 feet of the surface in the Gulf of Alaska. At 3600 meters this seamount is similar in size to Mount Hood in Oregon and it is one of many unexplored undersea mountains here in the gulf. You are watching an image produced by mounted bottom scanners shown in color compared to satellite derived back imagery shown in black and white.
